As a large youth work provider in Cumbria, our Youth Service Manager roles are busy, varied and highly rewarding. With a current membership of 3000 young people and a youth offer that includes 7 universal Youth Clubs a week, a programme of projects such as Youth Co-research, Young Leaders and DofE, and a targeted youth engagement programme that includes Mentoring, LGBTQ+, Girls Work and Young Carers, we are looking for someone who can embrace the art of youth work! This means balancing spontaneity with organisation, high energy with order, fresh ideas with consistency, and big group work with a no child missed philosophy.

Given our size and our scale, our team structure allows for 3 Youth Service Managers, who together, have responsibility for ensuring our youth services as a whole are of the highest quality and anchored in what young people tell us they want and need. Within this collective goal, each Youth Service Manager has a focused portfolio of key responsibilities, flexed and agreed annually to align with organisational priorities. For this current vacancy, we are particularly keen to hear from people who are energised by the potential of leading our programme of Youth Clubs and Projects from our amazing facility (Centre-based), and/or someone who is interested in progressing our Outreach and Partnership plans that will enhance our programme and expand the range of partners delivering with us and/or from our amazing youth facility.

Interested but want to see us in action?

As one of only 15 OnSide Youth Zones in the country, we recognise the size and scale of our offer is distinct and unique. We welcome and indeed encourage you to come and visit us – daytime or evening – if you want to see us in action and better understand how your contributions could support our programme.

We invite people to submit a written CV and a covering letter (no more than 2 pages), setting out clearly how you align to the requirements set out in the role specification.
