Cumbria Youth Co-Research Collective
We are part of a new Youth Co-research Collective in Cumbria! We are coming together as young people (12 – 17yrs), peer youth co-researchers (18 – 24yrs), and adults in Youth Worker, Community Researcher and Academic roles.
We are coming together to build our confidence and skills in research. We think this is important because research happens every day but doesn’t always include us! This is especially true when research is about young people and through this project, we hope to disrupt this pattern. We share a belief that research about young people should start with young people.
And we’ve made a start! We recently published our first blog which introduced our project and shared our learning from our first Get Research Ready With Me workshop. Following that success, we invited others to join us at a second workshop on Saturday 22nd March 2025. Excitingly, alongside more learning and time getting research ready, we also learnt that we have been given funding for our first research engagement project….a chance to put our learning so far in to practice! We’ve written another blog so we can share our progress and learning with you. You can read is HERE
