Become a Volunteer

Here at Carlisle Youth Zone our volunteers are very important to us,  by volunteering it can benifit you too.

Volunteering can be a way of:

  • Gaining new skills, knowledge and experience
  • Developing existing skills and knowledge
  • Enhancing a CV
  • Improving your employment prospects

Or perhaps you want to get involved for social reasons such as:

  • Meeting new people
  • Making new friends
  • A chance to socialize and have fun
  • Getting to know the local community

On top of this, many people volunteer for a variety of other reasons:

  • A desire to make a difference to the lives of others
  • Helping others less fortunate or without a voice
  • Gaining confidence and self-esteem
  • Feeling part of a team
  • Feeling valued
  • Having quality time away from work or a busy lifestyle

Carlisle Youth Zone will be reliant on people like you who are willing to offer their time as a volunteer to support our work with the young people of Carlisle and the surrounding area. Whether you can give a couple of hours a week or a longer commitment, your contribution will be valued and appreciated.

As a volunteer with Carlisle Youth Zone you can expect:

  • To be treated fairly and with respect and courtesy
  • An induction and a comprehensive training package
  • Role/task descriptions and policies related to that role
  • A Volunteer Agreement detailing expectations for your role
  • Ongoing support and supervision
  • Opportunities for further training and development
  • Recognition and thanks
  • A mechanism to feedback on your volunteer experience
